Shades Of Light

Well before the Box Brownie made Photography accessible to the masses and Louis Daguerre had perfected the daguerreotype. It is not well known that Daguerre had previously worked with a light based medium known as the Diorama. The Diorama was a large scale painting combining techniques of opaque and translucent painting with methods of manipulating natural light. This work is a homage to this precursor to Photography.

The Messenger

The Raven is often misrepresented and associated with the omen of death, but as with all death and decay life is reborn. In many cultures the Raven is regarded as a messenger between these realms of life and death, the shadows we cannot see. The Raven has the intelligence to solve the deeper mysteries of life.

Vortex

Battling with the shadows of thought that seem to spiral out of control in a never ending vortex. Searching for silence within one contends with the inner critique that struggles with doubt, fear, anxiety and stagnation.
