Ephemera

Ephemera is a collaborative site specific installation piece presented at the Old Bar at Panboola Wetlands for the Ephemeral Festival 2025. Ephemera is a visual representation of the complex layers that the Panboola Wetlands embodies. Combinations of history, nature and human intervention, as well as the significance the wetlands holds for many people in the community, the species that inhabit the wetlands, and the ebbs and flows of its ever changing nature over space and time. These have been layered in video and sound that have been projected onto layers of weavings created from the wetlands.
The weavings were created by Raven Spirit using Lomandra and Phragmites from the Panboola Wetlands which were projected onto with the following film footage I made, of video and field recordings that we both collected from the wetlands over a one year period.
For those not familiar with the Old Bar, it was the original Bar from the Pambula Racecourse when it was still operating. It was relocated and reconstructed at Tips Lagoon.
